"Vatican" says Pope Francis Meeting with Kim Davis Doesn't Mean He Endorses Church Teaching

I waited to comment on this story because I had a feeling the beezlebubs would clarify that the Pope doesn't endorse Church teaching on material cooperation with sin.

They proved my gut instincts to be correct.

Fr. Lombardi said Pope Francis didn't know who she was or what happened and whether the Pope wants to make sure everyone knows his meeting doesn't mean he endorses Church teaching that Catholics shouldn't enter into gay marriages or materially cooperate with them.
Ms. Davis — the Rowan County, Ky., clerk who defied a judges orders and refused to grant a marriage licenses to gay couples — was among the guests ushered into the Vatican’s embassy for a brief meeting with him, the Vatican said.

“The pope did not enter into the details of the situation of Mrs. Davis, and his meeting with her should not be considered a form of support of her position in all of its particular and complex aspects,” the Rev. Federico Lombardi, the Vatican spokesman, said in a statement released on Friday morning.

Ms. Davis’s case has become a focal point in the debate over the tensions between religious liberty and marriage equality in the United States.

This is complicated theology, but at this point it could be said that the people who are lured into the lascivious traps he is setting for them, are not fully accountable. By omission and commission, they are being deceived directly from the occupant in the Chair of Peter.

I don't have time to review this statement on the plane, but it seemed to me at the time to be saying people believe all kinds of stuff and should have conscience protection rights. He seemed to be keeping a distance from the substance of same sex marriage.

I keep going back to that initial invitation of Kasper and Pope Francis' endorsement of all Kasper's peculiar and heretical skullduggery and the suggestion we all endorse their asshat theology too.

When pigs fly brother.

More on this later.

According to the Catholic News Agency/EWTN report ( www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/vatican-clarifies-background-on-popes-meeting-with-kim-davis-47449/ ), Fr. Thomas Rosica, the Vatican’s English-language spinmeister, confuses the issue more:

[He] told journalists Oct. 2 that as far as the Pope’s meeting with Davis goes, “I don’t think it’s a matter of being tricked as of being fully aware of the situation and its complexities.”

“I don’t think anyone was willfully trying to trick the Pope,” he said, but clarified that the Pope had not been fully briefed on her situation, or the impact such a meeting would have.

Fr. Rosica said that since Pope Francis had not been fully aware of Davis’ situation, he was not referring to her when he made his comments about a government employee’s right to conscientious objection on board the plane from Philadelphia to Rome.

Rosica has no credibility.

To add insult to injury, His Holiness had an earlier private meeting on September 23rd at the Vatican embassy in Washington with a former student and longtime friend from Argentina with his male "partner". That meeting was not forced upon him (as some describe his meeting with Kim Davis) but arranged in advance by e-mail and telephone between the Pope and his friend. The Vatican spinmeisters describe that as "the only real audience granted by the Pope at the nunciature (embassy) was with one of his former students and his family." The press clip is from CNN ( http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/02/us/pope-gay-washington/index.html?sr=fb100215pope,gay,washington0433PMStory&linkId=17553617 ) and the video from the New York Times ( http://www.nytimes.com/video/world/europe/100000003953358/pope-meets-with-ex-student.html?playlistId=100000003887886 ).

They're throwing her (and Church teaching) under the bus, and embracing (again) sodomy and its "gifts". This pope and his henchmen are a nightmare from hell.

All of this just strengthens the perception that Pope Francis is all about, and only about, left wing politics. Catholic morality, the diminishment thereof, being just another chit to be used to placate his sought after leftist, agnostic, irreligious constituency. You have to ask yourself why our Pope and many in the hierarchy act like this as appears irrational on its face. One answer, of course, is that the devil has been given temporary control of the Church. What is our response? Prayer and penance. More prayer and penance. And, of course, to continue shedding light on all the areas of darkness in the Catholic Church as TTC and others are doing so well.
