Ugh

That is all.

ps: Anyone have thoughts on this?

Having read only headlines, this was my gut.

My facebook bud John DiMascio had these thoughts, which I will copy and paste without his knowledge or permission because they are good:

OK.... Kennedy states in the dissenting opinion stated that this decision didn't interpret the law as a tax, but literally re-wrote the law in order to uphold the mandate.

Now think about this. Tax Law must be initiated in House of Representatives. It can't start in the Senate, it can't be initiated by the President (although he can propose it.)
But according to the Constitution, all Tax Law must be originated in House.

Therefore, the Supreme Court just violated the "Separation of Powers." At most, the only thing the Court had the authority to do is to state that if it had been written as a tax instead of penalty, they could have upheld it....If the Obama Care penalty is a tax is was passed illegally. All tax legislation must begin in the House. This was the Senate version of the Bill which was marked up independently of the House version. The House passed it thinking it was a penalty. Therefore Congress violated the Constitution in the way this legislation was passed...The problem is that the decision says that the government can now tax inactivity. Normally you get taxed on a transaction (ie monies paid for work or a sales tax). Even the death tax is imposed because money goes from he deceased to the heirs. So there is an exchange of money. Property tax at municipal level is a tax because you own something. This tax amounts to a selective head tax. The government will tax you simply for being alive and residing in the country if you don't participate in a particular transaction. That is not necessarily unconstitutional but it is unprecedented.

Vatican Threatens Leadership Conference of Catholic Women with DeRecognition

If you look at the church as a hierarchical structure—whether you see that as benign, or something else—ultimately, the pope is the superior,” Levada said.

“I suppose if the sisters said, ‘OK, we’re not cooperating with this,’ we can’t force them to cooperate. What we can do, and what we’d have to do, is say to them, ‘We will substitute a functioning group for yours,’ if it comes to that.”

Levada told US journalist John Allen that it is “premature” to imagine that the current LCWR leadership is to address the “substantive issues” brought up by a doctrinal assessment issued in April.

Allen stressed the point, asking, “So if the response is not satisfactory, the result could be decertification of LCWR?”

“It could be,” Levada responded.

Cool.

And, there are no flies on Cardinal Leveda, as he appears to know the National Catholic Reporter is the the tool for their propaganda:

Levada, an American prelate with decades of experience in US Catholic politics, knew that in addressing the National Catholic Reporter (NCR), the leading journalistic organ of the American Catholic left, he was directly addressing LCWR and their lay supporters.

If there was a reason for the Pope to continue his vigilance, the magnitude of damage these women have done and continue to do through their 'leadership' will be right under their noses here in the comments of Allen's article.

But, here's the doozy: Nicholas Carfardi thinks the nuns should lead a schism.

If you can wade through Carfadi's Kafkaesque to his balderdash on SSPX, you'll see he hijacks Fellay's statements to draw the disastrous conclusion I've been warning about:

The SSPX leader, the illicitly ordained bishop, and recently un-excommunicated Bernard Fellay, has been telling the press that Rome no longer makes total acceptance of the teachings of the Second Vatican Council a pre-requisite for SSPX’s full reconciliation with the church.

There's no such thing as 'the teachings of Vatican II'. Teachings that come out of a council are not the teachings of a council. They are the teachings of the Church.

The only thing worse than curing the schism caused by the hijacking of Vatican II would be to bring SSPX back in with a license that says it's no longer necessary to accept the teachings of the Catholic Church in totality. Carfadi sophistry is the exact reason why I just can't imagine it happening.

I digress. Back to the nuns.

Evidently, Carfadi can't see the signs and understand their meaning.

The nuns have been leading a schism for the last 40 years. The Vatican has finally deployed a search and rescue mission for its victims.

Looks Like I've Hit the Jackpot

From: Agent Keith L. Bennett Office
Assistant Director, Inspection Division
Federal Bureau of Investigation
FBI Headquarters
935 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, D.C. 20535-0001, USA

Urgent attention

I am special Agent Keith L. Bennett from the federal bureau of investigation (FBI) Inspection Division. We have just intercepted and confiscated two (2) trunk boxes at JFK airport in New York, and are on the verge of moving it to our Bureau Head Quarters.

We have scanned the said boxes, and have found it to contain a total sum of USD4.1M and also backup document which bears your name as the receiver of the money contained in the boxes. Investigations carried out on the diplomat who accompanied the boxes into the United States has it that he was to deliver these funds to your residence as your contract/inheritance payment which was due you from the office of Finance Minister of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

We cross-checked all legal documentation in the boxes, and were about to release the consignment to the diplomat, when we found out that the boxes is lacking one very important documentation which as a result, the boxes have been confiscated until the required document is provided.

According to section 229 subsection 31 of the 1991 constitution on release of unclaimed consignment payment, your consignment lacks funds ownership certificate and for that reason you must contact me for direction on how to procure this certificate, so that your consignment can be legally cleared and okay for delivery to you.

You are required to contact this bureau within 72hours or we would take it that you do not want your consignment, and would move it to the treasury.

Also, you must not contact any other bank for any payment, because your payment is here in care of our storage vault team and will be released to you once you follow my directions.

Yours in service
Agent Keith L. Bennett

Cardinal O'Malley on the Sr. Carol Keehan and Obama Divorce

Here's an interesting observation on this 180 from the perspective of Catholic ethics and the usual and customary behaviors of the Bishops and nuns belonging to the Woodstock generation.

Sister was completely on board the abortion provisions of Obamacare when she thought the carrying out of the ethical problems in the mandate would be arms-length enough to absolve her of her own actions to help put it all in place. It was perfectly acceptable for Sr. Keehan to force educated Catholic doctors, nurses, pharmacists, business owners to pass out Obamacare crack pipes to the uncatechized but now that the ethical and salvific choices are hers to make, she wants freedom from the tyranny of the government she helped put into place.

When the chickens they hatch come home to roost and the onus is on them to do harm to souls, they don't want to execute their own policies.

Why do you suppose that is?

Did you see Cardinal O'Malley's statements on the Vatican's intercession of Sr. Keehan and renegade nuns?

He is despondent. Here he is is trying to evangelize and the Vatican has teed up a controversy. The Pope is his greatest distraction.

O’Malley declined to assign blame for what he described as misrepresentation of the church’s attitude toward women, but a spokesman later clarified that O’Malley believes the church hierarchy could do a better job communicating complex subjects and that the media have unfairly characterized the issues and linked matters that are unrelated to one another.

You read that right. It isn't Joan Chittister, Carol Keehan et al, who could do a better job communicating complex theology on human sexuality and the sanctity of life.

When the Cardinal fills our schools and initiatives and Chancery with these nuns and the people they have misled, that is not doing irreparable harm to the community of the faithful.

If you plow through the seven years of the Cardinal's communications, you'll find nothing saying the women misleading a generation of Catholics into promiscuity and murdering their own children are having problems communicating the complexities of doctrine and they are doing great disservice to the Church.

When Fr. John Unni delivers whacked out messages like this one, or the head of the Catholic Schools holds a 40,00 per plate fundraiser for the treacherous dictator who has this country on the trajectory of catastrophic murder and mayhem, these are not the people who need to revamp their message.

Get it?

He and Terry Donilon and the nuns and Jack Connors and John Unni and those they have misled are not the people with communication problems. The Cardinal is despondent because the Pope's communications are a distraction to their impeccable service to Christ's Church.

The Cardinal has fortified the profound and dangerous culture of attacking those who are reporting errors and dysfunction he has the responsibility to correct. It is notIt is never the people pulfering and causing irreperable harm thatare giving the Cardinal the doldrums. It is always the people reporting it and asking him to stop the victimizations. It is not a safe environment for children or any person of good will concerned about the personal or spiritual welfare of the faithful. Reporting the dangerous culture the Cardinal has instituted through the protocol and canonical guidance continues to result in the protection of Episcopal misfeasance and malfeasance by doing nothing or worse, giving them a red cap, rewards and accolades.

Other than continuing to expose it openly, fast, pray, offer up suffering, I'm not sure what else we can do.

Robert Gates Communication Strategy Advice to Tom Donilon

Boston Catholics are captivated by the national security leak scandal in the Obama Administration. Tom Donilon, whose brother Terry is communications director for the Archdiocese of Boston, is now being widely reported as the likely source of the leaks.

Earlier this week, we lit a candle for former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, when reports of his outburst to Tom Donilon issuing a new strategic communications approach, rang a very familiar bell. Every time Boston Catholics open the newspaper and read a quote from his brother, it is murmured in homes and rectories throughout the Commonwealth.

Tom Donilon's strategy, as I see it, was to leak details making Obama's White House operation look like the headquarters of La Costra Nostra. The intention was to make Obama look like a hero.

Republicans kill terrorists: bad
Democrats kill terrorists: good.

Strategy backfired. Bigtime.

The feathers appear to be hitting the fan.

A word to the wise:

If a phone call comes into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with communications advice on strategic damage control, originating from Boston, suggesting the creation of a blog posting hundreds pictures of Obama at pot luck suppers and fru fru events, send out amber alerts with Robert Gates advice and hang up the phone.

The apples do not fall far from the tree.

Updates on Sister Farley - Sister Sufferagettes

She said the reason she contradicts the Church's guidance on salvation is because people are suffering. The people who abide by the Church's teachings on sin are suffering. Missing out on the good times. Moreover consciences of people who fall to temptation are suffering. Suffering everywhere. All over the place. What is truth and why should people who have power be the authors of it. She wrote her book about sexual 'norms' contradicting the Catechism because she wishes to alleviate the suffering of the people.

Heh.

If I understand Sister Farley, loving God entails replacing God with oneself as the adjudicator of truth. And, loving one's neighbor as yourself entails providing them with a manifesto that will lead them to stop resisting sin. She says this is justice.

This is one of those things where being philosophical by nature comes in handy.

Sister Farley believes she was born to set Christ's people free from their sexual oppressor, Who is Christ Himself; The Mystical Body of God; The Institution the Father sent which enlightens us to the Intellect of the Holy Spirit. The Corpus of Christ, which He Sacrificed, and literally continues to Sacrifice daily, so we could consume His Body and Blood to strengthen us on our journey to Heaven.

Not that long ago, a personal acquaintance, a friend really, and one who expressed his faithfulness to Christ and His Church, invited me to a private concerto of Sister Farley's liberty bell. As a single woman, it actually happens quite frequently, but this one took me by surprise because I believed his theology about love of God and neighbor to be sincere.

Love and/or friendship that tells me what I need to hear to get me to act upon or participate in his or her temptations to sin, that kind of love just doesn't gel for me.

If I love someone, I have their best interests at heart. I contemplate, leverage and condition my own actions based upon and unified to love of God and neighbor.

If love of God and neighbor are flourishing in a relationship but they subsequently invite you to help you carry out a robbery at the 7-11, a red flag should go up. Something in your head should say 'whoah doggy'. The same holds true for any other commandment.

When a lively theological discussion took place, this individual resorted to something I have repeatedly heard under these circumstances. He told me I was thinking too much about it. Complicating the simplicity and beauty. Interrupting the momentum.

Why yes, yes I am. That's how true love of God and neighbor operates. I want to keep the relationship pleasing to God. In the Light. If ultimatums are issued, I will forfeit the relationship.

Is there suffering with that?

Sure. But my freedom from that suffering is in Christ.

Who wants to lose someone you care about, love, a friend?

But how much could that person possibly care about me? About Christ?

If the relationship, love, companionship and friendship are being held ransom to get you to take an immoral action, who wants it?

Sanctifying grace means too much to me. I can't function without it. My actions and reactions, my thoughts, my discernment and judgment, my peace, are all fed by the substance of sanctifying grace.

What kind of a friend, who knows the value of the substance of sanctifying grace would provide me with excuses or ask me to forbear it?

Fr. Casey has a spectacular youtube on the substance of love and friendship:

True love, that is true friendship is a precious and rare thing.

Love means wanting what is truly best for your neighbor, the people you love. What could be better than Heaven? It doesn't get any better than that.

What kind of a friend are you?

Do you know who your friends are?

What kind of friends do you have?

Do they lift you up? Are they healthy friendships? Are they morally good friendships? Do your friends lead you closer to Jesus or away from them? Do they support you when you stand up for what is right, for Christ? Help you to get to Heaven?

If the answer to these questions is no, these are not true friends.

If youe friends lead you away from God, if they are an occasion of sin for you, if they lead you away from the temperance and conduct that leads to your salvation...their expertise on love of God and neighbor has been tried and found wanting.

Pray for them but always choose Christ and the temporal and spiritual Gifts He left us until His return. Pay whatever price has to be paid.

The Queen of England and Dirty Dancing in the Moonlight

Was I hallucinating or did the anniversary performance for the Queen of England include Dirty Dancing in the Moonlight?

Really?

I thought she had more class.

Did anyone watch it?

I only watched it for about 20 minutes. Hopefully, it transcended to something more dignified and age appropriate.

Who was the architect of that celebration?

Obamacare "Hubs" in Public Schools?

Received the below in an email circulation. Could it be true?

Barack Obama's administration is moving forward with a series of plans that will lock ObamaCare into place forever...unless the Supreme Court decides to uphold the Constitution by striking down the government takeover of your healthcare.

Obama's handpicked Health and Human Services Director Kathleen Sebilius announced that she will establish ObamaCare "Hubs" in public schools across the nation, using loosely written "healthcare" appropriations to pour hundreds of millions of yourtaxpayer dollars into socialized medicine.

This latest expenditure of $75 million will create full-fledged federally operated health care centers in your child's school. And, the medical information data gleaned from your child will be stored by the school and the Feds to make "data driven decisions" on your child's health and learning.

Say goodbye to the school nurse and hello to Dr. Obama.

This insanity must stop. Our only hope is to flood the Supreme Court with our demand that the Constitution be upheld and ObamaCare be completely overturned.

The Supremes will make their decision soon. We do not have a minute to waste!

Massacres in Syria

Descriptions of the latest carnage in Syria are macabre.

Heinous brutality by the government-operated islamic terrorists. The body parts are strewn about, including children. Nothing in the village, including animals was left alive. The entire village is empty. Burning. Reeking of the smell of the corpses.

Heartbreaking video from the UN envoy is here. UN envoys to assist victims were detained, turned back while Assad's terrorists finished and attempted to clean up, bury the bodies.

The government operated media, which I believe we are close to here in the United States, issued their usual and customary statement of propaganda saying an 'armed terrorist group' killed a handful of women and children before they were able to burst onto the scene, kill the attackers and rescue victims.

That's right, disappointed. Disappointed, I tell you.

I am underwhelmed.

Special UN envoy Kofi Annan said yesterday that it was clear his peace plan was not working but was clueless whether it was the plan or implementation.

One does not have to be the Secretary of State to come to the breathtaking epiphany that Annan is completely out of touch with the execution and ground game of his own plan.

Catholic News Alert from Nancy Pelosi

Catholic archdioceses suing the Obama Administration were not speaking for the Catholic Church.

“Well, I don’t think that’s the entire Catholic Church,” Pelosi responded.

“Those people have a right to sue, but I don’t think they’re speaking ex cathedra for the Catholic Church.

“And there are people in the Catholic Church, including some of the bishops, who have suggested that some of this may be premature,” Pelosi said.
Nanc has tied her wagon to one Bishop and the people in the comments section of America Magazine.

Proving once again...you are what you read. :)

Interesting though, when CNS asked her to answer a question about Church teaching, she didn't do it. Peculiar answer, eh? She evidently believes we are only accountable for conduct on Sunday's inside of Church. Anything reprehensible we say and do outside of Church doesn't count.

Gee. Wouldn't that be something.

State Department Purges Religious Freedom from Human Rights

With the Obama Administration assisting radical executioners of Christians all over the world the purging of religious freedom from human rights reports should not be a surprise. The writing is on the wall.

I've been in the weeds and am a bit late in getting this notice up, but I did not want the fine work of all the people standing up for religious freedom today to go unnoticed.

God blessings upon those who organized, participated, prayed for these local wake-up calls.

STAND UP FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
This Friday, June 8th, 2012, there will be a number of Stand Up For Religious Freedomrallies across the Commonwealth to oppose the Obama Administration's mandate requiring all employers to carry insurance coverage for contraception, sterilizations, and abortifacients. This mandate --- promulgated as a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services regulation by the pro-abortion, nominal Catholic, Kathleen Sebelius --- is the most serious aggression against the religious freedom rights of Catholics in the 223 history of the federal government.
The Catholic Action League of Massachusetts urges all Catholics to defend their constitutional liberties, their rights of conscience, and the moral teachings of their Faith by participating in these rallies!
All rallies will be held on Friday, June 8th, at the following locations:
BOSTON - 12 noon, Boston Common
24 Beacon Street, across from the State House
LEOMINSTER - 12 noon, Carter Park Gazebo
Main Street
WORCESTER - 12 noon, City Hall Plaza
488 Main Street
WEST ROXBURY - 6:30 p.m., Holy Name Rotary
1689 Centre Street
Please take this important opportunity to express your support for the liberty of the Church, for the First Amendment, and for your own rights as an American citizen! Please come, and if possible, bring a friend or family member!

Blessed Feast of the Trinity

O my God, Trinity whom I adore; help me to forget myself entirely that I may be established in You as still and as peaceful as if my soul were already in eternity. May nothing trouble my peace or make me leave You, O my Unchanging One, but may each minute carry me further into the depths of Your mystery. Give peace to my soul; make it Your heaven, Your beloved dwelling and Your resting place. May I never leave You there alone but be wholly present, my faith wholly vigilant, wholly adoring, and wholly surrendered to Your creative Action.

O my beloved Christ, crucified by love, I wish to be a bride for Your Heart; I wish to cover You with glory; I wish to love You...even unto death! But I feel my weakness, and I ask You to "clothe me with Yourself," to identify my soul with all the movements of Your Soul, to overwhelm me, to possess me, to substitute yourself for me that my life may be but a radiance of Your Life. Come into me as Adorer, as Restorer, as Savior.

O Eternal Word, Word of my God, I want to spend my life in listening to You, to become wholly teachable that I may learn all from You. Then, through all nights, all voids, all helplessness, I want to gaze on You always and remain in Your great light. O my beloved Star, so fascinate me that I may not withdraw from Your radiance.

O consuming Fire, Spirit of Love, "come upon me," and create in my soul a kind of incarnation of the Word: that I may be another humanity for Him in which He can renew His whole Mystery. And You, O Father, bend lovingly over Your poor little crature; "cover her with Your shadow," seeing in her only the "Beloved in whom You are well pleased."

O my Three, my All, my Beatitude, infinite Solitude, Immensity in which I lose myself, I surrender myself to You as Your prey. Bury Yourself in me that I may bury myself in You until I depart to contemplate in Your light the abyss of Your greatness.

Amen.

~ Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity
